The specially formulated liquid polymer bonds with the surface of your vehicle and creates a water-resistant and easy-to-clean layer of protection guarding your vehicle’s paint against dirt and grime.
As with any new technology there are many questions that can arise. Today we will be answering one of the most common.
How long does Ceramic Coating Last?
To answer it simply, with proper maintenance and care, your ceramic coating will last anywhere between two to five years. Many professional ceramic coatings come with a lifetime warranty.
How to maintain Ceramic Coating
To extend the life of you ceramic coating and ensure it lasts two to five years proper maintenance is crucial. Below we will cover how you should maintain it.
Give it Time to Properly Cure
Ceramic coating needs time to cure. This is typically a two to three week long process. During this time it is important that you park your vehicle in a safe space. The goal is to avoid bird dropping, pollen, and large amounts of dirt that could sit on the surface and bake in. Covered parking will be the ideal place to park over the curing process.
Keep the Surface Clean
Ceramic coating helps your car resist water and dirt similar to a coating of wax. As with any paint protection, dirt and other build-up can contaminate the surface and cause the shine to go away. You should wash your car at least once a week (hand wash if you can) to ensure your paint is looking nice and clean. Pickup a few microfiber towels. These will become your new best friend.
Detail it Occasionally
Occasionally get your vehicle detailed by a shop that is familiar with ceramic coating. The professional products that shops use are much better than what is available through somewhere like Amazon or Walmart. These products combined with the shops experience can be valuable in maintaining the best look for your car. We’d recommend getting this done once every 6 months.
