Overall Design
Mother’s really emphasizes the “easy to use” and “fast application” aspect of this product and for good reason. Sure there are products that might perform better, but they are a headache to deal with and very time consuming to apply.
Coming in at 24 fl oz / 710mL this spray bottle is straight to the point. While it doesn’t look as “bright” and “fancy” as some of the others, Mother’s sleek gray with red and black accents reveal they want you to know this is a professional product. Leave all of the fancy designs to the “other” guys.
Diving into the formula we get a better picture of what we are getting ourselves into. Mothers advertises that the spray contains aSiO2 (Silicon Dioxide) and TiO2 (Titanium Dioxide) blend. The combination of those two ingredients are what forms the layer of protection we know and love of ceramic coating. The company also promises a gloss like shine and water repelling protection.
It’s clear there is a ton of hype reading the products description, but let’s dig a little further.
Use
When it comes to easy of use and convenience, Mothers delivers on the hype. The bottle design is comfortable in your hand and can make anyone feel like an expert auto detailer.
The CMX Spray coating is super easy to apply. First you want to ensure you have given your vehicle a good wash. Don’t slack on this, the cleaner the better. We wouldn’t want any dirt and other contaminants getting between the paint and the ceramic coating. Once you’ve done that simply spray the product onto a soft clean microfiber towel and spread evenly over a wet or dry surface. You’ll see the coating apply and slowly disappear as it dries, this is exactly what we want. Give the product a few minutes to dry and using a new clean microfiber, lightly buff the surface. For extra protection you can add multiple layers, but watch out it works best if you wait 24 hours in-between applications.
Following these steps we had awesome results on our test vehicle. The CMX Spray was a breeze to apply. We waiting roughly 10 minutes after applying to begin buffing and even made some slight touchups as we went along.

Results
The application couldn’t have been easier. We applied two coatings 24 hours apart and now it’s time for the true test: how well does it work?
For starters the water beading is very impressive. After spraying down the vehicle with water and doing a few circles around the block the car was completely dry without any hint that it had previously been covered in water. While harder to test we expect this coating to make your car more resistant to things like dirt, bird droppings, and other road debris.
In addition to this the paint looks AMAZING. The glossy finish on the vehicle could only be matched by the most expensive professional detail. The paint has a beautiful glossy look and will stay that way for quite some time.
In terms of life span this is a little bit harder to gauge. Life span can be effected by a few different factors. How it was applied, the temperature, the weather, etc. all play a role. Testing is still ongoing but from what we gather asking friends that use this and other reviews is you should expect this to last around a month before you need to reapply.
